The Myth of Writing

In the scope of intervention Creative Thinking, CRC Foundation promotes the second edition of the call for proposals The Myth of Writing, with which it aims to encourage the use of writing as a means of expression and a tool for dialogue, activating shared and creative writing actions that involve different categories of the population.
Words, in fact, allow us to translate our inner selves and emotions into thoughts, giving them form and stimulating dialogue and connection with others. Writing is understood as a tool for inner exploration and connection with the outside world, and manifests itself in many forms.
The announcement, which in the first year was inspired by the forms of the personal diary and epistolary correspondence, in the second year introduces a new measure dedicated to writing aimed at musical creation.
The call is aimed specifically at people who aren't usually exposed to cultural experiences, encouraging them to express their thoughts in non-confrontational ways and providing them with the necessary tools. Through workshop projects and support programs, the call will connect different realities, stimulating interaction between different social contexts.

The deadline to participate is June 30, 2026, at 23:59 PM.

Subject

The CRC Foundation is committed to supporting projects that involve collective and creative writing within groups, particularly those organizations and associations whose cultural activities are not typically prioritized, who wish to embark on a journey of discovery through writing, stimulating reflection and dialogue and disseminating them in shared practices. The 2026 edition also addresses schools, extending the opportunity to engage in research and communication through writing to younger generations.
The 2026 edition foresees two intervention measures, giving organizations the opportunity to submit projects focused on the practice of creative writing or the writing of lyrics for songs and music.

Measure 1 – Creative Writing: a program dedicated to creative writing, including collective writing, inspired by the personal diary and correspondence as tools for self-examination and dialogue. Organizations are invited to submit projects that involve writing aimed at producing final works, including but not limited to short stories, poems, fairy tales, screenplays, and comics.

Measure 2 – music: a line of intervention through which the CRC Foundation intends to highlight the ability of music and its lyrics to influence thoughts and behaviors, and thus the profound social role that characterizes it. Institutions are invited to submit projects that intend to work on writing lyrics for musical compositions and songs, reflecting on the importance of words even in the musical context.

Starting in October 2026, training sessions dedicated to the project leaders of the selected projects will be held by the accompanying body identified by the CRC Foundation, focusing on creative writing and songwriting. The projects will be supported throughout the entire project period by the technical partner identified by the CRC Foundation, who will provide training—specific and customized for each measure—and coordinate the entire process.
By the end of April 2027, each project will produce and submit to the Foundation a paper, which may take the form most suited to the nature of the participant groups and the topics addressed (e.g., screenplays, graphic novels, novels, short stories, poems, songs, etc.).
Starting in June 2027, the CRC Foundation is committed to publishing the works created by the individual projects as a series and subsequently disseminating the project described above to the community. The series will have its own graphic design, and a scientific committee composed of members selected by the CRC Foundation in consultation with the technical partner will provide a critical review. In the following months, the CRC Foundation will organize public presentations and dissemination events for the series and the project, collaborating with local cultural organizations.
The CRC Foundation puts €150.000 available, with a maximum grant of €15.000 for each project submittedParticipation in this call does not preclude the possibility of submitting a grant application for other calls from the CRC Foundation.
