Cookie policy and online trackers

This Cookie Policy is an integral part of the Privacy Policy available here .

This site uses cookies, including third-party cookies, to offer services in line with the user's preferences and, in some cases, to send advertising messages. Upon your first visit, a banner will appear containing a brief notice and a cookie preference management panel, as well as a button allowing you to accept or reject all or some cookies (the user can select/deselect individual cookie categories).

  1. Definitions and characteristics of cookies

Cookies and tracking systems are information that websites and apps send or read on your devices upon your first visit, to be then retransmitted to the same websites/apps upon your next visit. Cookies are active identifiers; tracking systems are passive, based solely on observing the user's device's unique settings. Thanks to these technologies, websites and apps remember actions and preferences (such as login information, preferred language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they don't have to be re-entered upon your next visit.

These technologies are used to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions, and store information regarding the activities of users accessing a service. They may also contain a unique identification code that allows the user's navigation within the site to be tracked for statistical or advertising purposes.

There are different types of cookies and other tracking systems that, depending on their characteristics and functions, may persist on your device for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser; and so-called persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a pre-established period of time.

In accordance with Applicable Law, your prior consent for the use of cookies is not always required. Specifically, such consent is not required for "technical cookies," such as those used solely to transmit a communication over an electronic communications network, or those strictly necessary to provide a service specifically requested by the user (in other words, cookies that are essential for the operation of a website).

Your prior consent is required for non-anonymized "analytical" cookies and profiling cookies, e.g., those that provide statistical analysis on website usage or create user profiles to send advertising messages in line with the preferences they have expressed while browsing.

  1. Types of cookies used by the Site and the possibility of deselecting them

While browsing the Site, you will receive the following cookies:

Technical cookies: These are essential for website navigation and the use of the services requested by the user (so-called navigation or session cookies), allowing the user to be identified and maintained throughout the session. Without these cookies, some operations could not be performed or would be less secure. They are not used for other purposes and are installed directly by the Data Controller.

Third-party cookies: These cookies originate from third-party websites or servers other than those of the Data Controller. Please note that these third parties, listed below with links to their privacy policies and opt-out mechanisms, process your Personal Data as data processors on behalf of the Data Controller. These third parties have signed data processing agreements with the Data Controller, and the cookies have been anonymized by masking IP addresses. Third-party cookies include, for example:

– Google Analytics. These cookies allow us to analyze and improve the functioning of the Site. This type of cookie is used solely for statistical purposes to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site. To disable Google Analytics cookies, you can download and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. This add-on instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript code (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) to prevent information from being sent to Google Analytics. The add-on is available for the most popular browsers. For more information on the Google Analytics opt-out add-on: click here. here.

For the use of any platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, or other CMS, these are functionality cookies provided by the platform to optimize the display and language of the Site. To disable cookies, you can refer to the privacy policy of the relevant provider.

Profiling cookies are used on the site, as indicated in the dedicated banner, which allows users to disable them if they wish. Although the Organization takes all possible technical measures to disable or neutralize all third-party cookies on its site, these types of cookies may still be activated using features that allow you to interact with social networks, and these networks may therefore track your browsing. This could happen, for example, when using sharing features on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. In this regard, we encourage you to always refer to the privacy policies provided by the respective social networks.

  1. Cookie settings

If profiling/tracking cookies are present, upon first accessing any page of the Site, a banner will appear containing a brief information notice and a cookie preference management panel/a button to accept all cookies. The user can select/deselect individual cookie categories. Consent to the use of cookies is recorded with a specific "technical cookie" with the characteristics shown in the cookie table. However, this cookie may not function properly in some circumstances. In such cases, users are advised to delete unwanted cookies and disable their use through their browser settings.

User preferences regarding cookies will need to be reset if different devices or browsers are used to access the Site.

Disabling the Site's technical cookies may mean that some of the Site's services or features will not be available or may not function properly, and you may be forced to modify or manually enter certain information each time you visit.

Refusal to authorize the use of third-party cookies will not affect the functioning of the Site; however, since these types of cookies are sent exclusively by third parties, and the Site operator cannot control the sending of such cookies to the user's terminal, the relevant objection can only be exercised by accessing the consent forms provided by the aforementioned third parties, if available, or through the user's browser settings.

Regarding cookies sent directly by the Site manager, in addition to the procedure provided on this page, the user may block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of their browser, or may decide to deny consent already granted by proceeding as follows: provide your consent ID, which can be found under the "Services - ID to request consent data" section within the Cookie Banner. This ID can be communicated to: dpo@fondazionecrc.it to provide for the deletion of previous data.
