Foundation networks
The Foundation promotes and pursues a policy of dialogue and cooperation through active participation in the associations to which it belongs, alongside others Italian and European Foundations. This is because relationships and collaborations with entities and subjects inspired and oriented towards the same objectives can and must foster continuous improvement of its action on the territory.
Participate first of all in theACRI, which brings together around fifty Savings Banks and the 86 Banking Foundations and represents an important meeting place, exchange and comparison with the Foundations operating at an Italian level, as well as intervening to represent and protect the general interests of the Foundations to promote the achievement of their institutional purposes, the protection of their assets and their technical and economic development.
At Piedmont level the eleven Foundations of banking origin have been united in an Association since 1995, to which three Ligurian Foundations have been added since 2022, with the aim of promoting and implementing common initiatives in the areas of intervention. The President Mauro Gola is a Board Member of the Consulta delle Banking Foundations of Piedmont and Liguria.
At European level, the Foundation is a member of Philea, which brings together over 7500 European philanthropic entities, born in 2021 from the union of Dafne and European Foundation Centre and based in Brussels.
Memorandum of Understanding ACRI-MEF
25 years after their birth, the Banking Foundations they look to the future with the choice of self-reform.
The spirit of the Amato and Ciampi laws, establishing the Foundations of banking origin, finds new application force with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 22 by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pier Carlo Padoan, and the President of Acri Giuseppe Guzzetti. With the signing of this document, the Foundations begin a process of self-reform that has among its main objectives strengthening the diversification of investments, enhancing the transparency of the grant-making activity, further guaranteeing the autonomy and effectiveness of governance.

Charter of Foundations
The Foundation Charter is the document that outlines the guidelines for a common behavioral orientation which, in compliance with the rules governing the Foundations, allows for the valorization of their action and the strengthening of their autonomy, responsibility, transparency and independence.
Each Foundation, through the appropriate institutional steps, will start a process of adopting the Charter in the coming months, "implementing the principles and criteria indicated by declining them in full autonomy in statutory and/or regulatory provisions, as well as in procedures and operational practices, according to [its] own dimensions and operational and institutional characteristics" (from the preamble of the Charter of the Foundations).
The Charter of Foundations was unanimously approved by the ACRI Members' Meeting on 4 April 2012.
The Assembly of 4 May 2011 had given the go-ahead to this document as the opportunity had been formalised provide governance guidelines, of institutional activity and of use of the assets of the Italian banking foundations.
The definition of the Charter was achieved through a process of development inspired by the widest participation, which involved all the Foundations through working groups.
