The Foundation's spaces

A community in motion is made up of spaces capable of welcoming and hosting cultural, educational and recreational activities.
To generate new knowledge, share resources, spread democracy and ensure better coexistence, it is necessary to have adequate spaces, tailored to people's needs.
Among our main objectives is to promote creativity, culture and social cohesion, and in our opinion this also happens through the opening of new spaces that respond to the needs of interaction, socialization and exchange of the community.

On this page you can find the CRC Foundation Spaces open to the community

Meeting Space

Adjacent to the Foundation premises, the CRC Foundation Meeting Space is located in Via Roma 15, where the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo had built its headquarters since the 50s. Trading Room by covering one of the internal courtyards of the Palace.

Purchased by the Foundation in 2006 and completely renovated, the room was initially named “Spazio Incontri Cassa di Risparmio 1855” in order to always keep alive the memory of the origins of the Foundation itself and taking inspiration from the inscription “Cassa di Risparmio” that emerged on the entrance jamb during the renovation works.

Today the hall has been renamed “Meeting Space CRC Foundation“. In addition to being used by the Foundation for its activities, the Meeting Space is made available to entities, institutions and associations that operate in the area for socio-cultural activities, according to the criteria and methods indicated in the Regulations for the use of the Hall.

Innovation space

Innov@tion Space

An exhibition space in the historic center of the city of Cuneo. The Spazio Innov@zione represents a tribute from the CRC Foundation to the Cuneo community, which we created in 2017 on the occasion of the celebrations for our 25 years of activity.

The Innov@zione Space is located in via Roma 17, on the ground floor of the Foundation building, where the old rooms have given way to the first immersive and interactive virtual gallery, a multimedia exhibition area capable of hosting art exhibitions and displays, but not only. Images, words and innovative technology, patented by Lighting Touch, merge in a single place, offering the visitor an experience of extraordinary visual and emotional impact.

The Rondo of Talents

In the heart of the city of Cuneo, the Rondò dei Talenti was born, an important regeneration project with which we transformed the former headquarters of UBI Banca into a space for the community. An educational center open to all, from 0 to 99 years old, which develops around the theme of talent to catalyze and give impetus to the growth of young people, to knowledge, to the birth of ideas and to the sharing of experiences. A new square for the city, a meeting point for citizens and visitors,
a space available for organizations and associations that wish to organize workshops and training and educational activities.

The architectural project, characterized by large windows that open up the view of the city and the mountains of the Alpine arc, connects with the activities proposed inside the building that aim to open new perspectives and offer food for thought to interpret the present and design one's own future. An invitation to the city to open up to discovery and to come and explore the Rondò dei Talenti and the proposed activities.

The Ex Military Refrigerator

In 2019, the CRC Foundation acquired the former Frigorifero Militare, an abandoned space located in the heart of the historic center of Cuneo. The redevelopment of the building, which in the past was used as an army depot and today appears dilapidated, represents an opportunity to revive a piece of the city's history.

The redevelopment of this space aims to strengthen the cultural district that is taking shape in the historic center, consisting of: Civic Museum, Monumental Complex of San Francesco, Palazzo Santa Croce, which houses the 0-18 library and will be the seat of the civic library, the exhibition center of Palazzo Samone, the University and the market roof of Piazza Virginio. To redevelop the building, an architectural competition was announced that was awarded to a group of architects from Florence and Messina who will design the new face of the building.

The space will be managed by the CRC Foundation and will become a cultural hub that opens up to the city, an accessible and democratic space in which to interact freely and give space to creativity, a cultural place with a social and community dimension.

Gustava Vineyard and the Belvedere at the foot of the Grinzane Cavour Castle

With the purchase of the Gustava vineyard in 2019 – the genesis of the “Barolo en primeur” operation – the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation has given life to an important social project that:

  • integrates local development, activation of territorial communities, training and economic and social value;
  • promotes on-the-job training for students of the Umberto I State Higher Education Institute or the Alba Wine School;
  • helps support socially useful projects, raising funds for 'good causes' represented by non-profit organizations that share the objectives of this initiative;
  • enhances one of the assets of excellence of the Barolo territory, the wine production, known throughout the world, also thanks to a project unprecedented for Italy, such as the en primeur sale for solidarity purposes.

The surface of the Gustava vineyard cultivated with Nebbiolo was divided into four macro particles, based on altitude and exposure. With respect to these macro areas, two different criteria were then adopted for the harvest of the grapes during the 2020 harvest: the first was to identify the historical strains planted over 50 years ago, to vinify their grapes separately from those of the younger ones; the second criterion, instead, consisted in the harvest, by micro zones, of the remaining grapes of the vineyard.

Among the hills of the Langhe is the “Belvedere vigna Gustava”, a panoramic route that winds for 800 meters from the Castle of Grinzane Cavour to the In Vigna Museum, on the slopes of one of the symbolic places of the history of united Italy. It is possible to walk while listening to the stories full of emotions narrated by the actor Mario Bois who, for the occasion, takes on the unusual role of Count Camillo Benso di Cavour, the first President of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Italy who worked in the castle and in the vineyards with his hands and his ingenuity.

The highlight of the itinerary is the Belvedere, the terrace overlooking the hills, immersed in the beauty of the UNESCO lands.

Meeting space

The castle of Lisio

In June 2023 the CRC Foundation acquired a space in Lisio, a small town in the Mongia Valley.

Through a path that focuses on the co-design with collective participation tools, involving citizens, institutions and local realities, we want to transform a historical site into a lively and inclusive place, where play becomes a key tool for exploration, learning and sociality, able to dialogue with the territory and the people who live there.

The architectural and landscape approach of the project is based on a balance between conservation and innovation, aiming to enhance the historical pre-existences through light and reversible interventions. The use of local materials and sustainable construction techniques strengthens the bond with the territory, while the design of the open spaces aims to integrate the castle into the surrounding landscape, creating an accessible and usable environment for the community.
